Procol Harum at Copenhagen, Denmark

Amager Bio, 6 November 2003

Jacob Thomassen writes to BtP

I was at Procol Harum’s gig at Amager Bio, Copenhagen on Thursday 6 November. Splendid show - although I must admit being surprised and a little disappointed in the exclusion of Homburg. It being only my third proper Procol Harum concert I can’t say I’ve had enough of the classics. On the other hand it was great to have so many new songs in the set. They seemed to fit in nicely and especially An Old English Dream and Weisselklenzenacht worked really well. I guess it’s totally parallel to the Aqualung-or-not discussion that has kept Jethro Tull fans like myself busy the last few years. I don’t know if you can use any of the pictures. They suffer from too little light, permanent positioning too distant from some band members, a few beers etc.

Magisterial bearing of Gary Brooker

Geoff advertises his favourite amplification

Matthew at the VK7 ... snappable only when he stood up

Eyes closed, or glancing at the keys?

Geoff and Mark; Geoff's plectrum oddly-grasped

The trusty RD 600 gets a name-check

Matt Pegg and the Musicmaster

Very characteristic Whitehorn action shot

Very characteristic Brooker action shot

All too rare, such nice pictures of Mark behind his kit

The band gather for the traditional bow, but probably not in the traditional order.
Plenty of interesting details in this picture if you look hard enough.
