ANNOUNCER
They get goose pimples hearing the music, while the memories pour out. They call themselves “the Procoholics”, being the Danish fan club for the band Procol Harum. Soon, their idols will appear in Denmark because the traditional Radio Denmark castle concert will be headlined by legendary Procol Harum. They'll appear backed by the Radio Light Orchestra and the Radio Denmark Chorus. Then we'll see, if the fan club might feel the goose pimples again.

I feel a great yearning, because that's what the song is all about. Per se, it shouldn't be decoded, it should be experienced, felt.

SM
NEM is sitting in the sofa, concentrated listening to the big hit by Procol Harum, AWSoP. His head is rocking slightly, his foot rhythmically tapping up and down.

NEM
It is so beautifully composed by Brooker that you can't help getting moist eyes.

SM
NE has been a Procol Harum fan ever since the beginning in 1967, when the band published AWSoP. Although being only 13 years old [12, actually – but who's counting? NEM], the great hit song led him to be chairman of the [Danish] fan club, the Procoholics, to-day.

NEM
This was really something quite exceptional due to that very dreamy mood.

SM
And he wasn't the only one to feel that way. Noller of Olsen Bros. [winners of Eurovision Song Contest 2000] was deeply touched by the song:

...riding his bike, he just began crying. Thus he reacted emotionally on the song. Perhaps many of us have the same feeling, saying: ooh, one those great ones...

SM
But not only AWSoP made his hair stand on end. He was really caught on hearing for the first time the Procol Harum rock music in combination with a symphony orchestra, eg. The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

This is a really successful example of two different worlds meeting, on a stage too. I think it is a unique experience listening to an extremely successful cooperation between a rock band and a symphony orchestra.

SM
NE is allowed to see the two world meet 19-20. August. Then Procol Harum joins the Radio Light Orchestra in Denmark. This will be something very special to NE and his fellow fans; playing with a symphony orchestra couldn't get much better.

NEM
With a symphony orchestra co-interpreting the music of Procol Harum a quite different depth is reached. The situation is quite different from the situation where the five band members join together in a recording studio or on stage.

SM
And due to this very special occasion, the 110 fanatic fans meet three days previous to the concert in Ledreborg Castle [a reference, in fact, to BtP's Palers' Revels]. Procol Harum are not unusual guests, but the co-operation with an entire symphony orchestra is.

And this will be nothing but the fulfilment of a very old dream, you thought never would come true.
