Chris Farlowe was excellent, and the Animals, who followed, were very good value too.
We knew Gary Brooker was injured, and we'd seen him moving and speaking with difficulty at the hotel
(in fact, BtP had delivered full-cream milk to line his stomach to prepare it for the strong medication he was taking):
yet the band was completely determined that the show would go on. 'This is Procol Harum,' Geoff Whitehorn insisted,
'What could possibly go wrong?'
