'Too Many Poets'

Tomorrow's Tombstones (Arc)

Key to authors' pseudonyms

As I lift my eyes
To meet the curtain of black
I see nothing here
Not to give on take back
On tomorrow's tombstones

Nothing of the past
Empty rooms gathering dust
Old photos scattered
Pictures of urban rust
On tomorrow's tombstones

Faces vanished and lost in time
Memories of a faded line
I 'm not sure I wrote ... any more

People lost in silent movies
Flickering statements of what is
And of what is not ... any more

As I close my eyes
Demons haunt the murky light
I feel the ghosts walk
No sound graces the white
Of tomorrow's tombstones

I see it all now
Painted on virgin canvas
Everyone I love
A flaming arc en masse
Of tomorrow's tombstones

Places decayed and long burnt out
Pleasure bloodied and cruelly cut
Can they be reclaimed ... any more

Time destroys all it can't use
Whatever is left is abused
Beauty's not enough . . . any more
