Procol Harum carved out their style through the crafty combination of the individuals' differences. They were certainly one of the first bands to create musical epics, long and winding stories that incorporated a variety of musical motifs and lots of twists and turns. Keith Reid’s story-telling lyrics and Gary Brooker’s unique voice created some amazing aural images. Their music was a combination of the rocky guitar built into the more symphonic side of Brooker’s writing style.
