Seven British dates confirmed for November

Procol Harum are to play London's Royal Festival Hall in November as part of a world tour which takes place in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the States, France, Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia.

The group, currently on their first tour of Australia, play the Festival Hall on November 12 and it will be their first London appearance since they played the Fairfield Hall Croydon in July (their Palladium concert for August was cancelled).

Procol's tour will include a concert at the Hollywood Bowl on September 21st where they will appear with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in a special concert that will be broadcast on American radio.

Live album?

At the beginning of October the group return from America for a series of concerts throughout Europe. First British date will be at Dublin Stadium on October13, although the English section of the tour doesn't properly start until the second week of November when they have completed European dates.

So far confirmed are Stirling November 9, Strathclyde University 10, Festival Hall London 12, Nottingham University 17, Exeter University 22, Southampton University 23 and Malvern Winter Gardens 24, with a possibility of further dates.

There are no recording plans for the band at present, although the Hollywood Bowl gig will be recorded for a possible live album and the band will be featuring new compositions from Keith Reid and Gary Brooker. Procol will be working on a new studio album on completion of this tour at the end of the year.
