Wyman celebrated birthday in Oslo: (by Rune Skogseth and Helge Mikalsen)

Former Stones bass player, Bill Wyman, celebrated his 62nd birthday in Oslo Konserthus yesterday evening. And he got the Procol Harum hit A Whiter Shade Of Pale as a present from Gary Brooker

About 1,000 people attended Bill Wyman's birthday concert. The night before he had celebrated his 62nd year birthday with colleagues and friends in Oslo.

According to project manager Hans Olav Lone at Oslo Konserthus, spirits were high during the whole concert.

Wyman also got gifts from the other band members while onstage. And former Procol Harum frontman, Gary Brooker, offered a very personal greeting. For the first time during the tour he sat down at the piano and played A Whiter Shade Of Pale for the ex-Stones member.

After the concert the tour 'bus was driven close to the stage door. Only the most eager autograph hunters succeeded in squeezing in pen and paper, securing the autographs of rock giants Wyman, Brooker and Albert Lee.

Webmaster Jens Anders Ravnaas adds: I had front-row tickets for this concert! I was even promised a backstage pass. But due to a family anniversary I had to cancel. What a unique concert this must have been, and Wyman certainely got the best birthday present anybody can have. What a shame I missed this!
