Barbican

Promotional handbill

Tormod Ringvold writes to BtP:
I was in London in January 1996 and at Tower Records, Piccadilly Circus I found this handbill for the concert at Barbican Hall on 8 February and the album The Long Goodbye:

Procol Harum with the London Symphony Orchestra

a whiter shade of pale homburg a salty dog conquistador grand hotel simple sister

Journalists near on wet themselves ... when the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a choir joined Procol Harum for a concert that was to fuse the classics and rock into a firmer foundation than ever before. NME - 1972

Brooker, now 50, may have acquired grey locks and a ponytail, but his voice remains a jewel and Procol's performance of just about every well-remembered song in their catalogue was definitive. The Times - 1995
