| Organist and technophile Larry Pennisi, another Guildford Paler, comes from the Woodstock area of New York's Catskill Mountains, and is the sole musician on One for the Boys (for PH) and Digging out from Under. The former, a tribute to our mutual heroes, comes from his 1996 Looking Backward collection and was recorded using the Korg M1's onboard sequencer. 'My favorite part of the song is a snippet that I stole from Telstar, right before the guitar solo,' admits Larry. Digging out from Under dates from April 1997 and, as well as the M1, it uses a Casio MIDI slave and Peavey effects processing. 'This track was my first attempt at using a Fostex analogue multi-tracker home studio, and it just took off without me really having much to say about it!' | |
