The author Marley Brant contacted 'Beyond the Pale' (October 2002)
"I am gathering stories for Tales From the Rock and Roll Highway, a book to be published by Billboard Books. I am looking for artist and fan stories pertaining to performances, life on the road, interesting encounters, etc. I'd love to include Procol Harum.
"The kinds of stories that are being submitted include things like run-ins with promoters, having a fan come up and smell the artist's hair, near-riots at stage doors, meeting fans in unlikely places, antics on the 'bus, encounters with record company executives, crazy things that happen on-stage, chasing guitar thieves, etc.
"For your information, I am the author of five published biographies and have been in the music business 26 years (one of the positions I held was Assistant National Director of Artist Development for Chrysalis Records, Los Angeles, PH's label at the time.)"
So ... no rock book is complete if it doesn't include Procol Harum ... so if you have a story to tell, please write directly to Marley at firstname.lastname@example.org
