Christmas Quizzes 2018–2019

Question of the Day : 28 December

In each clue you will find something very useful – a word hint – picked out in bold, suggesting something you can Google to get you started. Useful links too, at the foot of the page.

Don't pay undue attention to the question names ('4 T', etc): their significance may well not contribute to your reaching the desired conclusion in 5 January, when this series of puzzles come to an end.

4 T

Find the name of a 2012 solo-album, by a former Procol Harum guitarist, whose unusual title starts with a four-letter word which also begins a song-title on the present PH line-up’s only album to date.

4 E

More recently-issued of two tracks Procol Harum played live on Aled Jones’s UK TV show, 25 June 2017.

4 I

An early, obscure Brooker/Reid song known by two quite different titles, one of which is the opening two words of its text (which begins with the three letters that conclude a 1969 Procol lyric set to music and orchestrated by Matthew Fisher); to answer this question, simply supply the obscure song’s (longer) alternative title.
