Procol Harum at Järvenpää, Finland

Setlist: Wednesday 1 November 2006

Brooker, Dunn, Pegg, Phillips, Whitehorn
If you were able to get to this gig, please send us all your pictures, memorabilia, interviews and so forth!

Set One

Conquistador
Shine on Brightly
Grand Hotel
One Eye on the Future (BVs and guitar developing)
An Old English Dream
Homburg (extended applause)
Perpetual Motion
Simple Sister (audience clapping along)

Set Two

Bringing Home the Bacon (clapping along)
Pandora's Box (extended applause. Some guy yells, and Gary says 'James Brown is down there'. Procol then break into one verse of I Feel Good)
Fat Cats (intro is smoothing out, so is the whole song: developing nicely)
Something Following Me (Gary said that people in Finland like the blues, especially after they wake up from the winter ... in June, they're squinting; I haven't heard Josh play this good with great runs, tones, and full organ when required)
Something Magic ('We had an album out in '77 with an 18-minute second side about the Finnish wood industry')
Juicy John Pink ('From one of our difficult ones to one of our easy ones. This one Rob Trower wrote'; guitar and vox starting; added organ solo tonight: massively prolonged clapping)
Barnyard Story ('Our fourth album, Home: this is the happiest song on it'. Truly awesome tonight; prolonged applause)
A Salty Dog (Dunn absolutely nailing the drums on this presentation and adding slightly new flourishes: he really is playing the song! Gary finishes the second evening this song in Latin with the line from Whaling Stories 'those at peace shall see their wake'.)

Encore

The VIP Room
A Whiter Shade of Pale (same opening as previously with a very slight Sleepers Awake; piano cadenza ending. And while I haven't yet mentioned Pegg, the guy is a rock! Holds it together with Dunn)
