Procol Harum

And the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Many Palers feel it's very wrong that the name of Procol Harum is missing from America's 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame'. This page allows visitors to follow the various articles dealing with this subject that have been submitted to BtP over the years.

Carol Bellantoni urges Palers to vote and write in

2001: Carol writes again

2003: Pete Baumann's testimony

Apparently the 'Hall of Fame' decided (April 2018) to start 'admitting' singles by artists whom they've ignored for 'induction'. The first six such singles are Rocket 88 by Ike Turner’s King’s of Rhythm, Rumble by Link Wray, The Twist by Chubby Checker, Louie Louie by the Kingsmen, A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum and Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf. If this means that -- the famous song being 'in' -- Procol Harum themselves therefore won't be invited 'in', those who care about the 'Hall of Fame' will no doubt consider it an injustice.
