Trower: Oasis of the 80s

© Bert Saraco / Express Image Photography

Bert Saraco writes to BtP:

  • 1977 was over and the desert experience began. Robin Trower became an oasis. These pictures are from a show on Long Island in New York, in the early 80s. I can't say that I remember a lot of specifics about the show except, of course, that Trower was great and a very interesting subject for the camera! By this time, I knew what I was doing behind the lens. Alas, no more Procol shows!

PS ... lurking in the back of the club, in the darkness and gloom ... guess who? Yes, Keith was there, apparently protecting his investment. As I'd seen before, he was polite, not very talkative, but also not doing the 'super-star' routine. In other words, accessible, if not gregarious.

  • This page displays each of Bert's images twice; once at full size, and once as a little strip-cartoon to facilitate enjoyment of Robin's expressive facial and postural mannerisms!

    Thanks, Bert!
