'The Undertaker', David
Knights – original melodic bassist for the band who, contrary to popular
understanding,
did not play bass patterns totally conceived by Brooker. He
was given basic linessuch as the descending
opening section in She Wandered
through the Garden Fence but the middle flowing improvisational
flourishes are David’s own. It’s easy to tell the difference between piano
composed bass lines and guitar-oriented ones
The AWSoP video, re-recorded with the new members, Trower and Wilson
and in more splendiferous colour and sans the Vietnam war footage of the original
Gary Brooker in the live to
synched AWSoP segment. In the video, in all seriousness,
Gary looks somewhat influenced by
Tetrahydrocannabinol
extracts
he hands of Matthew Fisher on his own M-102 Hammond organ ...
and in stripy garment of the most ‘adelic persuasion
