December 23:

Keep up the positive vibes for one-time Procol drummer Ian Wallace, who had his operation to deal with oesophageal cancer on Tuesday. It sounds as though he's come through this part very well indeed. "He's on the right track, moving forward slowly but steadily." (thanks, Evan)

December 22:

Colossal impact: added the first new gig for Procol in 2007: with orchestra and chorus, the band plays inside a vast meteoric crater (thanks, Chris)

Added a snippet from the LA Times, a good Guardian piece, a good Times piece, and a Daily Mirror piece on the judgment in the A Whiter Shade of Pale authorship lawsuit (thanks, all)

Also added a link to a Channel 4 TV report which includes a musical interview with Matthew Fisher (thanks Phil)

"I have no regrets on what I have written ..."

Added a personal page containing the opinions of Franky Brooker following the A Whiter Shade of Pale authorship lawsuit (thanks, Franky)

December 21: BtP was down a while today because of scheduled maintenance at our server centre

Added the full text of Mr Justice Blackburne's judgment in the A Whiter Shade of Pale authorship lawsuit. At 99 paragraphs there's a lot to read, but it's good to get a glimpse of the full complexity of the case before coming to a reasoned opinion about its outcome.

BtP has written to Matthew Fisher asking if would like to make a statement on the website, following the AWSuit judgment. We hope to hear from him; and from anyone who has a recording or transcript of his very interesting Channel 4 news interview (at a B3, sans Leslie) from yesterday evening.

Matthew's own website has been updated with a moving piece of text ... and with a statement
